The High Speed Internet Source

What is High Speed Internet

Broadband or High Speed Internet allows business to access the Internet and other Internet related services at higher speeds than "dial up" Internet. The Federal Communications Commission defines High Speed Internet as data transmission speed exceeding 200 kilobits per seconds or 200,000 bits per second, in at least one direction. Downstream ( which allows you to download data faster) or upstream (which allows you to access data and have multiple internet user).

The most common standard High Speed Internet are DSL and cable modems. But newer technologies are being used including VDSL and optical fiber connections. Fiber-optic communications has played a crucial role in making transmission of information over larger distances much more cost-effective than copper wire technology.

With the increase use of the High Speed Internet, technology will be changing as demands for faster connection and faster download will put greater demand on the ISP Providers. The market expects that video on demand over the Internet will become more popular. At present time the High Speed Internet or broadband services does not provide good quality video, as MPEG-2 video requires about 6 Mbit/s for good results.

Business are using colocation center or data center to guaranteed High Speed Internet reliability with faster delivery time. The colocation facility offers large Internet connections and offer far more capabilities than a company could do on its own premises.  Colocation companies can offer 100 Mbps up to 1,000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet and even 10,000Mbps which is referred to a 10 Gigabit Ethernet Internet. These  colocation data center offer a secure, environmentally-controlled facility and takes companies data and store it in an off-site locations.

With the ever-changing world of High Speed Internet it can get very confusing on what will be the best for your business. Remember Time is money! Using faster internet access will save you more than enough of your time to justify its cost.
